Network Topology

Under Network Topology, there are different types of topology:





1. Bus topology- a network setup where each of the computers and network devices are connected to a single cable or backbone. A terminator is required at each end of the bus to avoid bouncing to each other.




2. Star Topology- a very common network setup where each of the devices and computers on a network connect to a central hub. And it is the easiest to setup. And when you use this setup there is a benefit that you can get from it, and its is the simplicity adding additional nodes.





3. Tree Topology-  a very common network setup that is similar to bus and star topology. It connect multiple star networks to another star network. But if the main cable or trunk between both of them failed, those network cable would be unable to communicate to each other.




 4. Mesh Topology- a network setup where each of the computers and network devices are interconnected with one another in all possible or partial combination. This type of topology is difficult and expensive compare to other topology.






   5. Ring Topology- configuration where network computer and devices are connected to each other forming a large circle. Each pocket is sent around the ring until it reaches its final destination. And now a days, this type of topology is seldom used.
